Writing Exercises

When I was in high school I signed up for a creative writing class. All I remember doing in that class was writing nonstop, daydreaming, and even drawing pictures. We had an exercise that we began with every morning. Everyone would rush to the back of the room to pick out three large black and white prints. Then we'd go to our seats and write about them, just anything that came to mind. One page short scenes, just a nice description, and sometimes poetry leaked out.
It's a good exercise to get the creative juices flowing, especially if you're having writer's block. It's good to remember that you can write anything that you want. As Lewis Carroll points out, it doesn't really have to make sense as long as it's amusing.
So let the fun begin! I've chosen some interesting pictures to choose from. Try not to time yourself; I feel like this puts restraints on the c. juice. If you really get rolling on a story for one picture, why stop! There is an optical illusion in one of these pictures...see if you can find it! Also, you can see a much larger image if you click on the picture. I back-linked them to their original websites, so it might be a good idea to open them in a new browser or tab. Happy writings!

New Installment

I've posted a second part to the story. This one is shorter than the first. There just wasn't a good cut off point for a few pages, so it would have been a long read. Hope you enjoy it! One other thing, I love picture books, and I think I will start putting more pictures in with my pages, but for now, here's a nice visual!
Also, I've added a few members to my 'Persons of Note' page. I'm thinking about putting up some either sketched or Googled images of the characters as well.
